We had the BEST time planning Kirstin + Ben’s wedding at the home on Lake Wawasee and reception at the Oakwood Resort Hilltop! Gaby and Jack had planned to get married in the Fall of 2018. They had a little early surprise of baby Charlie so we moved up their wedding date, changed the venue, guest count, and it made for the perfect day! Gaby + Jack decided to go from a big backyard wedding to a small, intimate wedding with their closest family and friends at Milktooth in downtown Indianapolis.
Gaby is a wonderful local wedding photographer (Gabrielle Cheikh Photography) so we were honored when she enlisted our help to plan and coordinate her wedding to Jack (who we oddly enough went to high school with, small world!). Gaby is Lebanese so we incorporated lots of her family traditions through the amazing food on wedding day. From hummus to baklava, it was all amazing and spicy! Kirstin and her mom were clients I was so sad to see go! We had the best time planning things down to the tiniest detail (see the intricate cookie favors with matching water bottles at the ceremony that match the menu, program, and invitation)! Kiristin lived in Indiana part of the time while we planned their Lake Wawasee wedding which is about 2.5 hours away from Indianapolis. She moved with her man in uniform to California so we had a mix of planning locally and far away for a destination wedding. Good communication is the key to planning a wedding when you don’t live locally and Kirstin and her mom were a dream!
It was a beautiful and FUN day full of big smiles (can you tell by how smiley Kirstin is in all these gorgeous pictures?!), happy tears, champagne, and lots of dancing! We have been helping Tess, Ryan and Tess’ mom plan their wedding for over a year now! I met Tess when she was a bridesmaids in her friend Natalie’s Hyatt Indianapolis wedding that I helped her plan. I was fortunate enough to have just as much fun planning Tess’ wedding as I did Natalie’s. Tess and her family are kind and organized (two of my favorite qualities). I’ve known Maddie for a long time. We grew up riding horses together and I helped her sister with coordination for her wedding a few years back.
